Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Regional Account Manager (Mid-Atlantic) is account management of strategic accounts and targeted business development in the Mid-Atlantic (US) territory.  Success in this role will require outside sales of Bigbelly Smart City solutions and territory management experience in addition to being an independent self-starter.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a combination of thoughtful strategy, creative planning, and aggressive engagement across the stakeholders of target account list. An ambitious mentality and the ability to be focused, organized, and flexible in a changing environment are critical.  This is a high-intensity position, with growth potential, reporting to the Regional Director of Sales – Northeast US. The role will ‘call high’ and interface with executives at some of the largest cities, colleges, and companies in the United States, building a high value, game-changing pipeline. The role will require travel within the Mid-Atlantic & Northeast – US territory.  This position will be based in the greater Philadelphia or immediate surrounding area.

Responsibilities

  • Focused Account Management of assigned accounts and territory
  • Deployment Reviews with Software Demonstrations
  • Business development and Pipeline creation
  • Outbound calling/mailing to target accounts/lists
  • Territory planning and forecast management
  • Marketing campaign follow-up
  • Other projects as assigned in support of the Marketing organization

Vice President, Wireless Technologies

Job Description

The responsibility of the VP of Wireless Technologies includes developing and driving new business activities with wireless carriers and other broadband providers associated with wireless technologies that can leverage and build upon Company’s existing business and expertise.  Such core competencies include existing street furniture footprint, value proposition, and real estate and engineering skills.  Core activities will include helping lead product development from a wireless technology- and market-based perspectives, develop and execute the go-to-market strategy, and managing internal and external resources, as necessary, to scale the business to support anticipated growth.

The individual will play the senior role in providing wireless, technology and market, expertise and judgement.  Initially a single contributor role, as warranted, the incumbent will build and lead a team of subject matter experts to support the business growth.  The role is highly collaborative and requires interfacing and teaming with internal stakeholders, all levels of management, and customer facing.

In addition to having well proven and industry recognized cellular technical skills, including RF network design, deployment and performance, the incumbent will need strong commercial skills to be able to evaluate and prioritize material projects that have the strongest changes of generating revenues.  Lastly, proven management and leadership skills are required within the cellular business ecosystem.

 

Responsibilities

  • Using past cellular industry experience and networks, identify and drive new business development strategies that generate meaningful opportunities for the Company.
  • Meet assigned new business targets (e.g., product certified, project milestones achieved, lease-up, commenced new business, etc.)
  • Stay forward-thinking on competitive trends and technology evolution in communications industry in order to proactively identify and prioritize technology-focused asset-based opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of meaningful opportunities. Opportunities can be partnership-based, multi-party, transactional, co-investment, and M&A.
  • As directed, lead negotiations to conclusion. Lead/support internally as necessary through the various management levels as required.
  • Regularly communicate business development strategies, initiatives, status and key asset market information to stakeholders
  • Creatively think of new areas, initiatives, strong value propositions, commercial innovations or sales approaches that will grow revenue and increase customer satisfaction
  • Successfully engage a broad and diverse cross-section of internal and external subject matter experts, business professionals, regulators and thought leaders to identify and source potential technology solutions and new product opportunities that align with marketplace needs.
  • Use rigorous analytical processes to identify and review major business and new business development initiatives.
  • Use existing as well as develop new appropriate commercial or contractual models that support new business model positioning.
  • Upon successful negotiation, work with appropriate operations team for hand-off and successful integration

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 15 years of direct RF engineering experience in technology, communications, telecommunications and/or wireless is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive wireless carrier engineering experience required, including RF network design, RF optimization, RF performance, public zoning and municipal outreach for site development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leading cross-functional cellular network deployment and operations teams repeatedly delivering best in class service and multi-level within and outside of an organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying, building, and benefiting for business purposes a strong network of relationships in the telecommunications and adjacent industries, and with customers, vendors, and consultants required.
  • Previous senior RF management experience required with one or more Big 4 carriers

Additional Requirements

  • Extensive relationships with wireless infrastructure and technology partners, industry consultants, network equipment manufacturers, educators and telecommunications industry thought leaders.
  • Demonstrated success at identifying business and technological needs and solutions and executing them successfully
  • Ability to drive effective negotiations in establishing agreements
  • Ability to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with potential partners
  • Ability to effectively analyze potential sales opportunities and lease agreements in regards to wireless asset transactions
  • Ability to work effectively across many internal functional groups to optimize product offerings, create a seamless customer experience and resolve issues.
  • Ability to drive work both independently toward the successful attainment of set sales goals and as part of a team to leverage input and knowledge base of others within the company in providing well rounded and thoughtful solution sets
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated success in executing appropriate and timely solutions
  • Exceptional communication, influence and leadership skills, with a clear bias for action.
  • Demonstrated success at identifying and synthesizing customer needs into a concise, clear and influential presentation and “sale”. Can teach others how to do so as well.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying talent and building individual and management capability. Proven track record of building successful sales organizations.
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines; excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion on matters of significance
  • The incumbent must be flexible as there may be workweeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the positions expectations and responsibilities are met.
